Four times a year we drive to a BBQ joint worth the trip, sit down with the pitmaster, film the whole thing, and ship you a box with their sauce or rub, one of our two championship rubs, the story, the recipe and a surprise or two. Famous pits and the ones nobody outside the county has heard of. You taste it the week the video drops.

How it works

  1. Four stops a year. Boxes ship in January, April, July and October. Big enough to be worth opening, rare enough to be an event.
  2. The canon and the detour. One stop from a famous BBQ region, the next from somewhere nobody expects. Kentucky mutton, Mississippi crossroads, Carolina whole hog, a pit in a gas station.
  3. We go there. Every stop is a real visit: the pit, the people, the cook, on camera. The video comes out the week your box lands.
  4. You vote on what's next. Members pick between finalists for future stops.

When does the first Pit Stop Box ship?

Stop #1 ships in late January 2027. Boxes go out four times a year, in January, April, July and October. Founding members hear where each stop is before anyone else.

What is in a Pit Stop Box?

Every box has the featured joint's signature sauce or rub, a second regional item, one of our two championship rubs (Wander or HAMmock Ranch), a story card about the place and the pitmaster, a recipe that uses what's inside, a link to the video from our visit, and a surprise from the road.

Do you ship outside Tennessee?

Yes. The Pit Stop Box ships anywhere in the continental United States. Shipping is included in the subscription price.

Can I give The Pit Stop Box as a gift?

Yes. A 3-box gift tour ships three consecutive stops to anyone you choose and does not renew. Gift ordering opens at launch; founding members get first access.

What does a founding membership include?

Founding members pay $249 for the first year (four boxes), keep that price for life as long as they stay subscribed, get a bonus item in Stop #1, and are named on our founding members page. Limited to the first 100.

Is this the same as ordering VL BBQ?
